The ancient city Aspendos are located 4kms
from Antalya and is found in the middle of the highway. It is survived by
Aspendos theatre which is present till today in a fair way. Basically, Aspendos
theatre Antalya Turkey is the most ancient and a good sample of Roman
art and architecture in Anatolia.
It is mentioned on an epitaph that this
theatre was built by Zeno a Roman architect who was the son of an Aspendian
named Theodoros at the time of Marcus Aurelius from 161-180 AC. As per the
epigraph of the theatre, Zeno was appreciated and awarded with a great garden
near the stadium which can be viewed if you visit to the location in your
coming vacations.
